Britax Car Seats

Britax is one of the most well known names in the car seat industry. Although their products have only been sold in North America for about 15 years, they have really made a name for themselves, and their seats are one of the best selling brands around today.



The Britax line-up is extensive. With recommendations for children to be in car seats longer than ever before, Britax has redesigned some of their car seats to accommodate children up to 120 lbs. This means that children can ride safely and securely in Britax car seats from birth up to 120 lbs or 65 inches tall.

Infant car seats are made to be rear facing, meaning the child will face the rear of the vehicle. Britax infant seats fit children from 4 lbs up to 30 lbs. At this point a child will move on to the next size seat which is a convertible seat. A convertible seat gives the parents the option to continue to rear face, or have them forward facing.

The weight limits on a convertible seat are rear facing up to 40 lbs and forward facing for 20 to 70 lbs.
Another kind of car seat is a booster seat. These are used for older children and start off as a harness type seat, whereby the seat itself is anchored to the vehicle, and the child is anchored in to the seat via a 5 point harness.

The harness on a Britax booster car seat is applicable up to 85 lbs, and then the child would graduate to using the seat belt as the device that contains them in the car seat. The booster seat is able to position the belt to the correct height on the child so that it is in the safest position possible. The booster seat will fit a child up to 120 lbs and 65 inches in height.
There is a wide range of color choices available for Britax car seat covers. The covers are extremely well made, durable and washable, as well as stylish.  Other accessories are available as well, including a handy car seat travel cart to make wheeling through the airport easier, and a travel bag for the car seat, to prevent dirt and damage when travelling. There are handy items too like a cup holder, or kick mat to protect the back of your seat from little feet.

For me, these Britax car seats have just about everything one could want. They are tried and tested so I believe in them to keep my baby safe if the worst comes to the worst and there is some kind of collision or car accident.. They are not particularly expensive and  are made out of quality materials, so I know I’m not paying for junk.

Last but not the very least, they are original. They use technology developed by their own brand and to me that shows a lot of commitment to producing a high quality product. The safety of my children is something I do not take lightly.
